About Us
Boating World has been serving the South West boating community since the mid 1970's.  The boatyard is located on a 20 acre, beautifully rural & tranquile site, situated on the west bank of the River Lynher, some 5 miles from the Devon City of Plymouth, just over the border into sunny Cornwall.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff, skilled in general boat work, servicing and repairs, will readily assist and offer advice on all size jobs.
The largest boatyard in the south west is capable of lifting boats up to 15 tonnes and 43 feet in length and storing up to 500 boats at any one time.  We are tide ristricted, so please do contact us to discuss the best timed plan for your vessel.  We have limited river berthing for day boats and bilge keelers and a number of river-side positions for liveaboards.

Boatyard General Facilities

Getting To Us By Road

When travelling towards Cornwall from Devon, stay on the A38 and cross the River Tamar on the road bridge adjacent to Brunnells infamous railway bridge.  Staying on the A38, pass under the tunnel and across the roundabout and proceed for 3 miles to the village of Landrake.  Following the brown tourist signs, turn left into the village and follow the signs to the river.  Remember to turn left at the pub.
From the west, stay on the A38 towards Devon, at the village of Landrake, passing under the pedstrian walk-over, turn right into the village and follow the brown tourist signs to the river, turning left at the pub.

Getting To Us By Water

Once inside Plymouth Breakwater in The Sound, head west in front of the Hoe towards the Royal Dockyard.  Staying clear of the warships, continue westerly, passing the River Tamar and the 2 bridges on your starboard side, heading towards the Royal Navy Sailing Centre at Jupiter Point and Antony House, passing through the deep anchorage at Dandy Hole.  With the historical village of St Germans and its' viaduct in sight, turn north onto the River Lynher, safely following the withies and markers to Boating World, passing under the 19m high railway viaduct.
The team will be waiting.

Secure Haven

All Boat Work Undertaken

Once you and your boat here, the serenity and security of the Lynher Valley will encompass you.
Protected from the prevailing winds, you will feel at ease on a cold, blustery night.
One of the advantages of being a 20 acre site, the largest boatyard in the south west, is that boats need not be placed too close together to restrict cleaning, polishing and other servicing actions, whilst car parking is unrestricted and free.
Whether you are simply preparing your boat for next season, or you have had a bad day and need insurance work estimating and undertaking to time, quality and cost, simply try us.
We will consider all work, refits or an impeller change on the water pump of your engine.  Simply ask for an estimate.
